ADECA's Workforce Development Division, through its Incumbent Worker program, provided assistance to Automatic Screw Machine Products Company in Montgomery during 2003-2004. The Incumbent Worker program assists employers with certain expenses associated with skills upgrade training for full-time employees. The maximum award for training projects is $50,000, which must be matched dollar for dollar.

Automatic Screw Machine Products Company was very pleased with the program and wrote: Since the first of 2004 and the completion of our training, we have experienced increased business and our employee headcount has increased by approximately ten employees. We feel this good news has come as a result of the Lean Manufacturing Training and Six Sigma training provided to us by the State of Alabama.
